ENGLAND VS BANGLADESH

PERFECT START FOR THE HOSTS

Hosts England got off to a perfect start at the oval on thursday by beating Bangladesh by 8 wickets.Hosts chased down 306 without much difficulty.England though left out Adil Rashid and went in with 4 seamers after winning the toss. That decision might have had something to do with the injury of Ben Stokes and the vulnarability of the opposition against pace bowling. Woakes went off the park after a couple of overs due to side strain which allowed Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar start steadily.A couple of wickets went down courtesy of poor shot selection but Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim controlled the innings with a beautiful partnership of 166.England missed the services of Adil Rashid when they failed to contain Tamim and Mushfiqur but came back very well with a series of wickets at the back end of the innings. Plunkett's 4-for was instrumental which was helped by some mistimed aerial shots by the middle order.Sabbir's cameo helped Bangladesh reach a descent total of 305 by the end of 50 overs.
England got off to a shaky start when Mustafizur grabbed a stunner at short fine leg to get rid of out-of-form Jason Roy.Then walked in Joe Root who looked in absolute control of his innings from ball one.Alex Hales was the aggressor who made a blistering 95 to set the launching pad for Captain Morgan and Joe Root to finish things off.Joe Root finished not out on 133 and captain Morgan finished unbeaten on 75.It was a perfect start for England who go into the tournaments as red hot favourites which is an unknown territory for them. Also, it was a perfect appetizer for Bangladesh and warning for rest of the teams in the tournament.
